Vegetable-tanned leather has a long tradition in Tuscany, Italy. For centuries the naturally tanned leather has been used for shoes, boots, horse saddles.
Continuing an ancient tradition of fine craftmanship which aims at a sustainable development we offer vast ranges of fine Made in Italy leather handbags to suit all tastes and budgets.
The vegetable tanning process is natural in asmuch as it does not use nasty chemicals for tanning but instead natural ones. This of course benefits the environment. The process is longer than chemical tanning hence the material often more expensive. Our special enzyme treatment of selected hides, makes it possible to obtain ultra soft and supple finished products, something which was impossible only a decade ago with vegetable-tanned.
